Failed EVARs—What’s next? Insights from Dr. Schanzer

In this PVI 2024 interview, Dr. Andres Schanzer explores the evolving management of failed EVAR procedures using fenestrated and branched endografting

He explains that nearly 25 % of patients treated with this technique in the U.S. today have a prior EVAR in place—and encouragingly, the outcomes remain just as good as in EVAR-naive patients.

Dr. Schanzer describes a design evolution that involves a four-vessel fenestrated endograft with an integrated bifurcated component, allowing successful treatment even when the prior graft extends close to the bifurcation.

This approach helps achieve a durable seal at the level of the supraceliac aorta, offering a reliable salvage strategy.

Discover why prior EVAR is no longer a barrier to durable repair!
