FemPop CTO: crossing techniques and drug strategy

This PVI 2025 session replay focuses on practical strategies to cross and treat femoropopliteal lesions

Intra-luminal and sub-intimal recanalisation are highlighted as complementary approaches, with sub-intimal techniques remaining effective in complex and calcified occlusions. In challenging CTOs, the wire path often determines the crossing route. On the treatment side, emerging data suggest that a single drug dose may not be sufficient for all lesions, with higher or repeated paclitaxel dosing showing potential to improve outcomes

The session also addresses ongoing questions around slow-flow and limus-based technologies, emphasising the need for a tailored, patient-specific endovascular approach.
